Hey everyone! Hello Philippines and hello world. How’s your
day? Mine is doing well. It is great to start a blog with a huge smile on your face.
Before anything else I want to share a quotation by William G. Pollard "Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized,
processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision
making, it is a burden, not a benefit."
So, let me
start this blog with a little background about information to informatics. The
original root of the word information is the Latin word “informare”, which
means to fashion, shape, or create, to give form to. Information is an idea
that has been given a form, such as the spoken or written word. It is a means
of representing an image or thought so that it can be communicated from one
mind to another rather than worrying about all the information afloat in the
world, we must ask ourselves what matters to us, what do we want to know. It's
having ideas and learning to deal with issues that are important, not
accumulating lots and lots of data.
Nursing informatics is a career that focuses on finding ways to improve information management and communications in nursing to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance the quality of patient care.
The American Nurses Association defines nursing informatics as “a specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in nursing practice. Nursing informatics facilitates the integration of data, information and knowledge to support patients, nurses and other providers in their decision-making in all roles and settings. This support is accomplished through the use of information structures, information processes, and information technology.” (ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, 2001, pg vii.)

NURSING INFORMATICS IN ASIA
First is about Nursing Informatics in Asia. Basic Computer literacy
education is now a part of nursing education in most Asian countries and
graduate programs majoring in NI. Countries in Asia: Korea, Japan, Taiwan,
China, and Thailand. Health informatics in South Korean has grown considerably in recent
years with the professional outreach activities of the Korean society of
Medical Informatics (KOSMI). Health Informatics Education in Korea, most
Nursing Schools -are adding informatics to graduate curricula so that graduate
students can take informatics courses as an elective. I also learned that the
Standardization Activities in Korea is the primary motivation for which
is compatibility of data, clinical documentation and research outcomes across
the country.
The scenario begins and ends with
the genetic information. Whether the concerns of the nurse are prevention,
diagnosis, cure, rehabilitation, the evidence will come from the genetic
profile. Stated also that there types of IT needed to support to healthcare: Grid
technologies, High performance computers, Robust integrated information systems
based on standards.
Nursing Informatics In CANADA
The Canadian Nursing Informatics Association (CNIA) exists to help nurses
across Canada to learn, share, research, and create informatics-related
projects and experiences that can help to boost the competencies, theory, and
practice of informatics on a national level.
The mission of the CNIA is to be the voice for Health Informatics in Canada.
Recognizing the importance of the work the CNIA is undertaking, the Canadian
Nurses Association has granted Associate Group status to the CNIA. The CNIA is
also affiliated with COACH and the IMIA-SIGNI.
Theory, and a practice of informatics on a national level. A nursing informatics specialist can provide the synergistic importance of information technology (IT) specialist and a nurse professional.A valuable role in improving IT education and maintenance, and assisting management of nursing data, supporting nursing practice, and research. Many times hospitals outsource IT personnel, which can create many advantages from lack of IT support, lack of nursing knowledge, and poor IT management. This can produce a large amount of stress on staff nurses who are forced to troubleshoot computer problems and thus spend less time with the patient. As technology intertwines with nursing, standards of practice change. The advantages increase the quality of care, improve information sharing, enhance clinical decision-making and education. rehabilitation settings can gain an enormous support system by having a nursing informatics specialist on board. It can open many doors and address the unique needs of disabled patients.

Taiwan Elder Abuse by Aiai Nursing Home & they have an exceptionally abusive and incompetent facility. They openly disobey basic standards of care for their disabled patients. Their front-line employees and management are a sadistic, vile crew incapable of introspection or improvement. They are disgusting people with no conscience!
